The Minnesota Timberwolves showed up to Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals hoping to even the series. In a franchise defining game, and a BIG 3rd quarter following halftime, Anthony Edwards, Julius Randle and the Wolves looked to tighten things up and steal the 2nd half. Instead, they gave up 35, got a front-row seat to the Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Show and left with a 118–103 loss.
Minnesota: Anthony Edwards Deserved Hazard Pay
Anthony Edwards did everything but drive the team bus. He dropped 32 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists, carrying the Wolves like a backpack on a three-day hike. And just like a tired hiker, he got absolutely no help.
Jaden McDaniels had a solid night (22 points, 4 threes) and Nickeil Alexander-Walker showed up off the bench with 17 points, because someone had to. Beyond that? It was an episode of Who Wants to Miss a Shot?
Julius Randle’s 2-for-11 performance felt like performance art. Mike Conley went 1-for-6 and looked like a guy who left his powers in the hotel minibar. Rudy Gobert managed 5 points and 1 assist, reminding us that yes, defense is his thing - but offense apparently is not.
OKC: These Kids Are Legit
OKC played like the team with nothing to prove and everything to gain. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was smoother than a jazz solo, pouring in 38 points and making it look unfair. If Minnesota had any game plan to stop him, it’s probably still loading.
Jalen Williams chipped in 26 points and 10 boards, and Chet Holmgren added 22 while blocking shots like he had a personal vendetta against basketballs.
It’s not just the stats ; OKC plays with flawless precision, pace, and the kind of confidence usually reserved for drunk guys at karaoke. And it’s working.
Game 3: Must-Win or Just-Wishful-Thinking?
Now down 2–0, the Wolves head back to Minnesota where they need more than Ant-Man to show up. They need Julius Randle to find the rim, Conley to find his shot, and Gobert to find… anything.
Because right now, the Thunder are rolling, and the Wolves look like they just realized they forgot to pack a plan for Shai.
