Chiefs - Bills

The Kansas City Chiefs will host the Buffalo Bills for the AFC Conference Championship this Sunday, January 26, 2025, in the last decided game for this year's Conference Round as the Bills defeated the Ravens in a close 25-27 Victory just last night.

Chiefs

Completing the season 15-2, which in many ways is considered controversial, The Kansas City Chiefs were the front runner of the AFC throughout the 2024 NFL Season. Dropping a Week 18 game to Rookie Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos in a hard-to-watch 38-0 blowout, many believe they should've finished 16-1. On the flip side, a multitude of football fans would argue that due to a flurry of "lucky wins" including missed field goals, called toe touches, and late offensive breakdowns, their play would depict the season of a 9–12-win team.

After earning a Bye through Wild Card Weekend, The Kansas City Chiefs achieved a fairly convincing 27-19 win in a very unconvincing playoff game vs The Houston Texans. Not much of this game screamed "Elite AFC Football" as Kareem Hunt led the ground game attack for KC, though; he was limited to only 44 yards on 8 carries against a middle of the pack Houston run defense.

Patrick Mahomes threw for only 177 yards, with a reception rate of 65%, tallying 1 TD and succumbed to 3 sacks for 15 Lost Yards. The only Offensive player with a particularly big game last week was Travis Kelce posting 117 yards on just 7 receptions with 1 touchdown and a 49-yard play. With that said, Patrick Mahomes was able to find a Tight End for 117 Yards on 7 receptions; while only tallying 60 yards on 9 receptions. Despite however this game may have looked from the outside, they were able to tally yet another consecutive Playoff Victory.

Bills

The Buffalo Bills have had a much more convincing, and most would say difficult road to the Conference Championship in just about every metric. After dropping two back-to-back games early in the season to Baltimore and Houston, Buffalo rallied for 7 straight wins leading up to a Nail Biter defeat to the Los Angeles Rams and a somewhat "thrown" Week 18 to the New England Patriots. Josh Allen remained atop QBs around the league in overall consistency this year cleaning up his turnover-prone habits from years before, leading to 5 regular season games over 35 Points, and none under 23.

As far as their two playoff wins have gone, The Buffalo Bills looked like champions in their Wild Card matchup vs the Denver Broncos. Denver certainly didn't look their strongest as Bo Nix was only able to complete 13 of 22 for 144 yards. No lack of effort from the Rookie QB; however, as he led the Broncos rushing category with 43 yards on 4 carries. Needless to say, Denver did not play their best football, and the Buffalo Bills knew just how to take advantage of their flaws.

Their Divisional Week matchup against the Baltimore Ravens was much more of an evenly matched game filled with twists, turn(over)s, and a handful of forced mistakes for Baltimore. Buffalo didn't necessarily "out play" Baltimore to a major degree, trailing in Passing and Rushing Yards, but the mighty Buffalo defense came to the rescue in more ways than one. Causing 3 turnovers, as well as playing with the discipline to only commit one penalty, the Buffalo Bills were ultimately able to find the edge over the Baltimore Ravens in a Hard-Fought game.

Matchup

This AFC matchup is one that EVERBODY is looking forward to in some sense of the matter. Chiefs Lovers, Chiefs Haters, Bills Lovers, Bills Haters, Swifties, and everyone in between will have their eyes set on these two teams. 2 quarterbacks who are no strangers to one another, will meet once again in a game to decide the Super Bowl picture.

The Kansas City Chiefs looking for a historic 3-peat victory following back-to-back Super Bowl Victories in 2023 and 2024. Despite numerous "unconvincing" wins, close calls, and last second miracles, The Kansas City Chiefs are on a Historic run in the NFL and no one can disagree. It's becoming "Brady's Patriots" level of dominant and if they pull of this unbelievable feat, it just may take the cake.

As the Kansas City Chiefs are typically an extremely hard team to bet against once the playoffs come around, I actually want to say that they will survive the Bills and make a run at the Super Bowl. With that said, this prediction is not made with a particularly high amount of confidence as I also would advise that Bills prop bets would likely cover better than the Chiefs.

I am expecting a BIG performance from Xavier Worthy, but don't see Mahomes or Kareem Hunt posting rather impressive numbers.

Josh Allen on the other hand will likely cover on yards, along with James Cook, however; I doubt they can surpass 20 points. 1TD Josh Allen, 1TD James Cook 2FG seems like a fairly realistic stat line to watch for.

My official guess is going to be 30-20 Kansas City
