Exactly one week out from the regular season, the opening day will feature two highly anticipated games; one being the NBA debut of father-son duo Lebron James and Lebron (Bronny) James Jr. as their Los Angeles
Lakers take on their fellow West Conference competitors from the North, Anthony Edwards and The Minnesota Timberwolves.
If this Western Conference battle isn't enough to convince fans to tune into opening night, the NBA gave fans from the East a bit of a barn burner as the New York Knicks will take on the Jayson Tatum and his reigning champions, the Boston Celtics.
Both of these first night games feature serious Championship contenders from the 2023-2024 season, as well as a predictably emotional performance by possibly the greatest of all time, Lebron James.
As this exciting day for basketball fans becomes near, one question remains unanswered.
Is there an obvious front runner in the NBA this year?
Let's looks at last year's playoff picture:
In true champion fashion, the Boston Celtics were able to prance their way through the NBA playoffs with only three total losses. That is including zero against the Pacers, who they swept 4-0 in the
Eastern Conference Final series sending them to the NBA Championship.
There they ultimately defeated the strong but physically drained Dallas Mavericks. A Dallas team led by European star Luka Doncic and veteran Kyrie Irving.
Close behind the Mavericks and Celtics stood a handful of powerful teams with the likes of Minnesota, the almighty Nikola Jokic and his Denver Nuggets, the young and evolving Oklahoma City Thunder, and the New York Knicks.
What's to come:
Following a season of franchise shifting trades, spotlight rookies in summer league, and a gold medal at the Olympic Games, it's safe to say the NBA has a lot to unleash this coming season.
We will see some new faces as we are now looking at Westbrook to Denver, Minnesota's KAT to NYK, Paul George will see himself with the 76ers as he recovers from an early injury this off season, and many more.
All in all, we can expect to see exciting ball out of the East and West Conferences once again this year as our new up and coming class of all stars hit the court again. Let us know who you think will take home the hardware
